IMGP4488.jpg Lost Gardens of Heligan - "There was a small toolshed and next to it a potting shed, which, judging by by the regular fixing holes in its rear wall, contained extensive racking for the clay pots in all their different sizes... The full length of the wall in front of the windows was taken up with a potting bench,underneath which were several bays for storing various composting materials. Panels of zinc were often nailed to the surface of the rough timbered bench to prevent the gardeners getting splinters in their hands when potting up at speed."
